DRESS CODE FOR
COTILLION CLASSES

Because how we look determines partly how we act, the Cotillion students will step up their attire for classes!  Hair should be neatly combed, fingernails are clipped and clean, with a pleasant smile on their faces to complete their appearance. 

Primary Cotillion Dress Code

Pretend you are headed to a fancy birthday party!  Young ladies should wear a party dress or skirt, and dress shoes (cowgirl boots are optional). White gloves will be provided by Teton Cotillion. Young men should wear, a dress shirt, khaki pants, tie, belt, and dress shoes (cowboy boots are optional).

Middle School Cotillion Dress Code

For classes, ladies should wear dresses or skirts, short white gloves (gloves will be provided by Teton Cotillion), and dress shoes for classes. Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, dress shirts, ties, navy or dark blazers, and hard-soled dress shoes

 

For the Dances, young ladies please wear classy knee-length dresses or separates. Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, white dress shirts, ties, and navy or dark blazers.

High School Cotillion Dress Code

For classes and dances, ladies should wear conservative dresses or skirts, and dress shoes. Gentlemen should wear khaki pants, a dress shirt, a tie, a sports coat, and dress shoes.  No tennis shoes, please.

 

For theatre events, young men please wear a sport coat, kakis, and a tie. Young ladies, please wear nice slacks, a skirt or a cute dress and a dressy top.

The dress code for a ball is semi-formal. Ladies should wear age-appropriate, modest, semi-formal, or formal dresses, knee length or longer (please no strapless dresses or dresses with trains). Gentlemen must wear a jacket and a long tie. They may choose to wear their blazer and khakis, a suit, or a tuxedo.

OTHER DRESS CODES LEARNED IN COTILLION:

Casual – comfortable but tasteful clothing

Young Men – tee shirt, polo shirt and jeans or khakis, cargos.

Young Ladies – tee shirt, stylish top, jewelry, blazer, sneakers, boots, sandals.

Business Casual – think, what you would wear to the office

Young Men – nice khakis, polo or collared shirt, dress shoes and loafers.

Young ladies – dress pants, khakis, casual skirt, fashionable top.

Dressy Casual – step it up a little and look sharp

Young Men – sport coat, Kakis, trousers, vests and ties.

Young Ladies – nice slacks, skirt or cute dress, dressy top.

Business/Informal – Informal is more sophisticated than dressy casual

Young Men – business suit with tie, slacks with sports jacket and tie.

Young Ladies – business suit or business style dress with heels.

Semi-Formal – just a notch below formal tuxedos and fancy gowns

Young Men – dark suit with long tie.

Young Ladies – classy knee-length evening dress or separates

Formal/Black Tie/ Black Tie Optional – tuxedos and floor length gowns 

Young Men – tuxedo with all the frills, no gloves, black cummerbund to match tie or may wear vest, black suit with conservative tie.

Young Ladies – updo or parial updo, floor length gown or very elegant shorter dress, jewelry.

White Tie -  the fanciest of them all

Young Men – Black tailcoat, white wing-collard shirt, shirt studs and cuff links, white vest, white bow tie, white gloves, black patent shoes.

Young Ladies – floor length evening gown, long white gloves optional.
